The 17th Annual Harrop and Ruth Freeman Prize in Peace Studies was awarded by the Peace Studies Program at Cornell in April 2001 to two Cornell seniors: Lydiah Bosire and Sarah Hart (shown here on either side of Judith Reppy.

Lydiah Bosire (College of Arts & Sciences, Government Major) planned to stay at Cornell following graduation to do the Cornell Institute for Public Affairs (CIPA) masters program, and to concentrate on international relations and to continue her research on conflict resolution in Africa.

 Sarah Hart (College of Arts & Sciences, History Majo), planned to work with an AmeriCorps program in the area of environmental education and community-based conservation following graduation.

Each student received $2,500.
